WHY VISIT EL NIDO, PALAWAN?

There are a lot of reasons why you should visit the beautiful place of El Nido. El Nido, Palawan is surely on everyone’s “place-to-visit” list because of picturesque views, beautiful sunset at Corong-Corong, white sand beaches, crystal clear water, lagoons, cliffs and underwater world. Every adventure will leave you an unforgettable memory.

WHERE IT WAS LOCATED?

El Nido is one of the Municipality of Palawan. It was located at the Northern Part of the Province around 5-6 Hours travel from the City of Puerto Princesa.

HOW TO GET THERE?

If you are coming from the Puerto Princesa, you can ride a bus or a van for hire. It takes 5-6 Hours travel if you will ride a van and 6-7 hours if you will go there via public bus. If you are coming Coron, Palawan, you can take a ferry and it takes 4-5 hours travel from the Port of Busuanga going to El Nido. They also have direct flights coming from Manila via Air Swift but the ticket is a little bit pricey compare to other airlines.

When you want to go to El Nido all by yourself, you have to ride a tricycle from Airport or from your accommodation going to San Jose Terminal. The tricycle fare still depends on how far you are coming from. If you want a hassle free, you can book directly to travel agency where you can book your tours and hotels and get a discount. Booking in a travel agency offers a free pick-up from Airport or from your Hotel. The best thing about it is you don’t need to take a tricycle and pay for extra fare and all you just have to do is wait for your pick-up. Here are the rates for Puerto to El Nido and Vice Versa:

WHAT TO DO IN EL NIDO?

Your visit in the most Beautiful Island in the World wouldn’t be complete without exploring their nearby islands. Island Hopping tours are definitely a must-do when you visit El Nido. They offer four kinds of Island Hopping Tour and they called it Tour A, B, C, and D and each tour will bring you to stunning places. The most popular among the four Island Hopping tour is the Tour A & C because it will take you on a journey to a beautiful views of lagoons, beaches, and snorkeling sites where you can swim with fishes. The locals usually recommend this for those who don’t have idea which tour they will take but you can still choose what tour you want to visit. If you want to try other adventure aside from Island Hopping, you can also try the canopy walk. It is the safest Cliff (Taraw) Climbing where you can see the stunning view of El Nido. You can also watch the sunset at Corong-Corong with your loved ones or see for yourself what El Nido can offer at night.

Those rates includes buffet lunch, boat transfer with Life Vest, Pick-up and Sending by Tour Guide. The P200.00 per person for Environmental fee is not included.  You can pay it directly to the agency where you book or to your tour guide. Environmental Fee is a one time payment for all Island Hopping tours that you want to try and it is valid for ten days.

WHERE TO STAY IN EL NIDO?

There’s a lot of accommodation in El Nido. Some of them are quiet expensive but you can still find a cheap accommodation for a budget traveler but you have to book in advance especially during peak season to secure the rooms because most of the Hotels and Tourist Inn during peak season are already fully-booked and walk-in bookings is not highly encouraged. Later, I will give you a cost breakdown when you visit El Nido for 3 Days and 2 Nights. For now, here are some of the cheap accommodations (based in 2 Pax) in El Nido handpicked by me:

1. MILAN GRACE INN – P1,600.00
   It was located at Barangay Buena Zuerte, Zone II, Cabigsing, El Nido Palawan. The accommodation is just 10-15 minutes walk from the beach and It was near in the Restaurants.

      2. RAINFOREST BEACH HOTEL – P1,800.00

       It was located at Barangay Masagana, Hana Street, Zone III. It is a beach front                          accommodation

  3. DESERT ROSE HOTEL – P1,600.00

   Located at Sitio Laguardia, Corong-Corong. The hotel is near at the Terminal but it’s 
   quiet far at the town of El Nido.

4. LA CASA TERESA TOURIST INN – P1,800.00

  It was also located at Corong-Corong El Nido, Palawan about 10-15 minutes drive to the 
  town proper of El Nido.

5. FOUR SEASONS BEACH RESORT – P2,200.00

 It was also located at Sitio Laguardia, Corong-Corong. This beach resort have a swimming pool exclusive only for their guest.
6. GARNET HOTEL – P2,400.00

 Located at the Town Proper of El Nido. This hotel is just near at the beach, souvenir shops and restaurant.

7.SPIN HOSTEL – P3,000.00

Located at Balinsasayaw Road Cor. Calle Real. This Hotel is 5 minutes drive from Corong-Corong Terminal. If you want to stay in this Hotel, you have to book in advance because they are always fully-booked.

8. ROVIC’S TOURIST HOTEL – P3,500.00

Located at Hama Street, Barangay Masagana. It was also located at the Town Proper of El Nido. Just like Garnet Hotel, this accommodation is easily accessible to restaurants and souvenir shops. It’s just few steps from the beach.

9. SEA COCOON HOTEL – P3,600.00

Located at Calle Real, Barangay Masagana. Sea Cocoon Hotel also have Swimming Pool for their guest.

This quotation is based on agency rate where you can get a P200.00 discount per person for tour. The good thing about this is they will book everything for you. All you have to do is to bring extra money for your dinner and for buying pasalubong from El Nido.
